You've likely at one time or another heard someone described as a person who "lights up a room." Of course, that's simply metaphorical language describing someone with a friendly and outgoing personality who generally brings joy to others. In the Bible, Jesus calls Himself the "Light of the world," and He means much more than one with a great personality. In a metaphorical and literal sense, Jesus is indeed the Light of the world.
