Many people profess a faith that they do not possess. Indeed, Jesus Himself said in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:21-23) that many on the Last Day will be stunned that they are not saved, yet their lack of fruit made it clear that they did not know the Savior. The Apostle John writes that we are liars if we profess fellowship with Christ yet walk in darkness and disobedience.
