I love Holy Week, from the regal drama of Palm Sunday, to the sobering reality of the cross on Good Friday, and on to the joy of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. I think music so enhances our experience of the emotions of Holy Week!
We started Holy Week with a really fun anthem, an arrangement of Michael W. Smith's jazzy Hosanna which incorporated the hymn All Glory, Laud, and Honor. I am looking forward to our singing Lloyd Larson's gorgeous On the Cross at the Good Friday service at 7 pm. It will be a Tenebrae Service during which the lights will be progressively dimmed as we read through the scriptures that bring us to the cross. Then we open our Easter morning service with the celebrative Risen Indeed! by Allen Pote.
Below is the link to mediafire which has choir parts and demos of the music we will be singing. As always, it is my privelege to be your director. Together we make a joyful noise unto the Lord!!
